ICYMI, it’s the classic tale of Beauty (well, Belle) and the Beast from our childhoods.

If you need a refresher, here’s a quick recap.

After Belle’s father (André Dussollier) steals a rose for her (Léa Seydoux) from the Beast’s property, the Beast (Vincent Cassel) sentences him to death. But, there’s a saving grace. Feeling at fault, Belle takes the fall. Dinner after dinner and dream after dream, she gets to know the Beast at his castle. And she eventually discovers, of course, that he was once not a beast, but a prince, and decides to lift the curse that was put upon him.

We’ve always loved the original.

Aren’t they the cutest?!

Btw, Christophe Gans’s French version is not to be confused with the Disney remake coming out in 2017. The film was originally released in 2014 internationally, but this is the first time it will hit US theaters and WE CAN WAIT!!

Like we said, the French Beauty and the Beast will be out on September 23, 2016, and it’ll first be released in L.A., NYC, and select major markets. So get ready!
