Friday is National Doughnut Day. There will be free doughnuts. Prepare thyself.
Friday, June 5th is one of the most important holidays of the year. It’s National Doughnut Day!! While you have your own practices and rituals to celebrate the great doughnuts of the world, doughnut chains across America have theirs, too. On Friday, they’re giving out free donuts. So circle the day on your calendar in a big red marker, set a phone reminder, cancel all your plans. You’ve got a date with doughnuts in 48 hours.
Two of the largest doughnut chains in the country, Dunkin’ Donuts and Krispy Kreme, will be giving out free delicious doughnuts ALL DAY (or, for as long as their doughnut supplies last). Can we all just agree that “free doughnuts” are the two most romantic words ever?
For Krispy Kreme, there is no catch. That means you can scope out the giant HOT NOW signs, wait ’til they illuminate, and then pop inside for a FREE original glazed doughnut, which are the absolute best. This offer is available in every single state, except for Connecticut. I don’t know what you did to make Krispy Kreme mad, Connecticut, but come up to Massachusetts because we’ll have more than enough doughnuts to share.
As for Dunkin’ Donuts, you do need to purchase a beverage — any beverage — to snag a free doughnut. But then you’ll have your choice of whatever doughnut you wish. You’ll also have an iced coffee or coffee coolatta, so it’s a win-win no matter what.
It’s almost Friday, you guys. If there’s anything to get us through hump day, it’s the promise of free doughnuts. Mmmmmmm. Doughnuts.
