Frank Ocean and Chance the Rapper brought their parents to the White House State Dinner, and, melt

All the coolest kids get to hang out at the White House, and we’re way #jelly. President Barack Obama hosted his final (please don’t leave) State Dinner on Tuesday night, and Frank Ocean and Chance the Rapper both brought their parents, officially making it a family affair.

The dinner, hosted in honor of Italian Prime Minister Matteo Renzi, started out the way most dinner parties do (NOT):

With a formal greeting on the red carpet, photo opportunities in the marbled hall with arriving guests like Gwen Stefani, Blake Shelton, and James Taylor, on their way to a meal of ravioli and flank steak by Mario Batali.

Chance’s father, Ken Bennett, goes way back with Obama, having once worked with him when the president was a Senator for Illinois.

“Thanks Dad for raising me right. Look at us all fancy for the White House. I ain’t even wearing a hat tonight #BlackBoyJoy, Chance Tweeted with a photo.

Ocean’s mother Katonya Breaux, meanwhile took to her own Twitter account to capture the evening.

“I am so blessed to have a son that includes me in his once in a lifetime events!!! I just hugged our First Lady!!!! #statedinner, she Tweeted.

Awwwww!

The people of the internet couldn’t help but notice Ocean’s GENIUS choice in footwear.

We’re planning our own state dinner-themed party right now — painting laurels on our red carpet, setting up a press section in the hallway, cracking open our Batali cookbook, putting together our invite list, and planning our playlist for the after-dinner dance party.

Oh yes, the Obamas got nothing on us!
