Frances Bean posted a bittersweet tribute to her dad Kurt Cobain on what would have been his 50th birthday
As painful as it is to think about, today — February 20th, 2017 — would have been Kurt Cobain’s 50th birthday.
We all feel his loss profoundly, and therefore cannot imagine how tough days like today must be for his daughter, Frances Bean. The Marc Jacobs model and artist posted a note for her father on her Instagram account Monday morning, and we’re basically feeling like it’s April 5th, 1994 all over again.
“Today would have been your 50th birthday,” she wrote. “You are loved and you are missed. Thank you for giving me the gift of life. Forever your daughter, Frances Bean Cobain.”

Frances Bean, of course, was only a baby when her father committed suicide, so she was never given the chance to get to know him personally.
But if she wants to get a glimpse of what he and his music meant to people, all she has to do is log on Twitter, where fans are posting messages of remembrance on what would have been such a major event in his life. false

You created music to make people feel that they're free to do whatever they want
And it'll always be on repeat

Depression is a terrible illness, and suicide is the goddamn worst. We wish Frances Bean nothing but love and healing today, and hope we can all continue to spread support for and awareness of the mental health crisis today, tomorrow, and every single day that comes after it.
