This fox was raised by humans and thinks he’s a dog. It’s all painfully adorbs.
Today in Cuteness We Can’t Even Believe, we would like you to meet Todd the Fox. He’s a real life Fox and the Hound and it’s making us crazy-happy. Rescued as a 4-month fox cub, Todd is a happy member of Emma D’Sylva’s family, and he’s BFFs with Emma’s two dogs. In fact, he basically believes he’s a dog. “He tries to do what the dogs do but I can’t let him off the leash because he’s deaf so I can’t shout him to come back,” Emma tells The Daily Mail. He behaves like a dog, but “a little more hyperactive,” according to his owner.
So, basically Emma is living the dream. Our dream. Maybe just my dream. I’ve always wanted to have a fox as a pet, but like most wild animals, they need a lot of space, and they’re not super domesticated. Todd, on the other hand, is a pet through and through. Emma tells the Mail, “He will run up to me wagging his tail when I go to feed him and roll over to have his belly tickled.”
Todd isn’t her only rescue pet —in England (where Emma lives), a person doesn’t have many pet restrictions, as long as they are treated well. So Emma has a bunch of cute animals who live with her, including a skunk, lizards, and snakes. According to the Mail, “She takes some of her 40 pets into schools and care homes to enable children and the elderly to interact with a range of captive-bred animals.”
If you’re like me and can’t get ENOUGH of foxes, check out this fox farm in Japan (aka, one of our fave places in the world).
For now, we’ll just keep fangirling Emma and Todd the Fox. They’re just the sweetest.
