Yeah, baby, yeah! A fourth “Austin Powers” movie may be in our future

There are some movies that simply Never. Get. Old. Which is why we’re pretty thrilled to hear that Mike Myers would love to do another Austin Powers movie — as revealed in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter for the 20th anniversary of the first film. And we’re hoping this dream of ours his might come true!

In the same interview, Jay Roach (the director of the existing three films) confirmed that the creative team would be up for another movie as long as they found the right story.

"We have talked about [making a fourth movie] for 15 years," Roach shared with THR. "We have also always said we don't want to do it unless we came up with something that lived up to the concepts in our mind. Until Mike feels like he has a concept that earns a fourth, it won't happen. But if it did, we have all agreed that we would be delighted to get back into it."

Ummmmmm. We’d be delighted, too!

In the same interview, Myers discussed how the Austin Powers films were created as a tribute to his father, “who introduced me to James Bond, Peter Sellers, The Beatles, The Goodies, Peter Cook and Dudley Moore.” The personal nature of the films definitely make them all the more special, both for Myers and the audience.

"I was devastated by my father's death," Myers said. "But to have that turn into something that makes people happy is unbelievably satisfying. It's that kind of stuff you never get used to or get tired of."

We hope that Austin Powers 4 becomes a reality. Seriously, TAKE OUR MONEY ALREADY!

JK, no pressure, guys. But we’re totally ready for a new adventure when you are.
