An ex-Playmate says Trump has an elaborate system for covering up his affairs
Today, February 15th, an article in the New Yorker revealed former Playmate Karen McDougal’s account of an affair she allegedly had with Donald Trump in 2006. The details provided in McDougal’s story are strikingly similar to adult film star Stormy Daniels’ 2011 description of her alleged affair with Trump in In Touch, implying that the billionaire had an intricate system for covering up affairs.
McDougal told the New Yorker that she met Trump at a Playboy pool party in 2006. Like Daniels, McDougal reported that she later ate dinner with Trump at the Beverly Hills Hotel and then joined him in a private bungalow. McDougal also said that Trump’s bodyguard would escort her to the real estate mogul’s room, an account that is consistent with what Daniels told In Touch in 2011. Trump required McDougal to buy her own airfare and accommodations when the two traveled together, and he later reimbursed her. The former Playmate reportedly ended the affair in 2007.
A former contestant on The Apprentice, Summer Zervos, who accused Trump of sexual assault in 2016, also said he had taken her to a Beverly Hills Hotel bungalow.
Like Daniels, it appears that McDougal was also paid to remain silent about her time with Trump. Shortly before the 2016 presidential election, the Wall Street Journal reported that American Media Inc. (AMI), which owns the National Enquirer, had purchased the exclusive rights to McDougal’s story for $150,000 but hadn’t published it. Sources told the New Yorker that Trump was close friends with the company’s CEO, David Pecker, and that Pecker would frequently use the same tactic to kill unflattering stories about Trump. false

McDougal’s deal with AMI reportedly occurred a few months before one of Trump’s lawyers paid Daniels $130,000 to keep quiet about her affair with Trump. And like Daniels’ agreement, the contract McDougal signed limited what she could discuss with the media, although a change to the agreement meant that she could answer “legitimate press inquiries” regarding her experience with Trump.
A White House spokesperson has denied the affair, dismissing it as “just more fake news.”
McDougal is at least the second woman to say that Trump cheated on Melania, demonstrating, once again, the president’s poor treatment of women. But more than that, it suggests that there could be more compromising information that Trump has paid to conceal. We’ll be watching to see how McDougal’s report affects the Trump presidency.
