This footage of two men driving through the Tennessee wildfire is unbelievably terrifying

While it’s extremely heart-wrenching to read about people losing their homes and lives in wildfires, it’s quite another to see footage of the events unfolding. Tennessee resident Michael Luciano recently posted video of himself escaping the Tennessee fires and the scene is unbelievably terrifying.

Fortunately, Luciano and his companion made it out of the wildfire devastation and even managed to capture their daring journey to safety on video as the relentless flames consumed the Chalet Village area.

As the driver makes his way down a mountainside road, huge orange flames burn dangerously close to the vehicle, quickly engulfing cabins and trees. For a moment, thick smoke, embers limit visibility and a fallen tree nearly traps the two men and their dog in the inferno, but miraculously they made their way out.

As of Wednesday, CNN reported a total of seven deaths resulting from the Gatlinburg fires that were sparked Monday by wind-blown embers from the Chimney Tops Trail in Great Smoky Mountain National Park.

On Thursday, Great Smoky Mountain native Dolly Parton announced a fund for Tennessee fire victims. In a video message, the singer said, “We want to provide a hand up to those families who have lost everything in the fires. I know it has been a trying time for my people and this assistance will help get them back on their feet.”
