The first time Orlando Bloom got recognized in public was SUPER creepy

Being a celebrity sounds awesome. But sometimes fans can be really strange. For example, the first time Orlando Bloom was recognized in public, his fan encounter was SUPER creepy.

On Friday, the Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales actor stopped by The Graham Norton Show.

He was on the couch with John Boyega, Amy Schumer, and Goldie Hawn. Although they were all there to talk about their movies, things took a turn to dating as a celeb and fan encounters. After Boyega revealed that he broke up with a woman after she discovered he was in Star Wars, Bloom shared his first fan encounter with the group.

It happened just after the first Lord of the Rings movie had come out. Bloom was in a supermarket at the sweet young age of 22(ish). He was minding his own business when a fan recognized him and decided to connect with the actor. But, like, in a pretty bold way.

When he saw this fan, he could’ve never predicted the creepy thing she would say to him.

"This woman came up behind me and she whispered in my ear, ‘Are you my elf?' the actor recalled. “And I was like, ‘No, I’m a garden gnome,' he added after making a hilarious face.

No, no, no, this is SO strange, and we can’t get on board with it. Sorry, we won’t have it. No elf or gnome references when it comes to dating, we’re putting our foot down!

While we recognize the courage it takes to talk to someone you admire, we are pretty unnerved by the content of what this woman said.

Actually, it is pretty creepy.

No one likes being called an elf, in what we can only assume was an attempt at a sexy pickup line.

In all fairness we would probably panic and stay something odd if we ran into Bloom at a supermarket. Just look at that face, it’s so dreamy. But even if we were to say something IRL, we would probably steer clear of the elf stuff.
