We have our first look at ‘Neighbors 2’
If you were pleasantly surprised by how good Neighbors was then you’re probably looking forward to the 2016 sequel to the family vs. fraternity comedy.
Today, Entertainment Weekly shared a first look at Neighbors 2, which like the first will feature former teen heartthrob Zac Efron, modern comedy legend Seth Rogen, and Australian funny lady Rose Byrne.
In case you missed it, the first film featured Rogen and Byrne as Mac and Kelly Radner, new parents to a little girl and new neighbors to a frat led by Zac Efron’s Teddy Sanders. At first, the Radners try to act like cool neighbors, but eventually engage in an all-out war with the fraternity.
According to director Nicholas Stoller, the sequel sees Rogen and Byrne face off against a sorority house on their block. Members of the sorority include Chloe Grace Moretz and Selena Gomez, newcomers to the Neighbors franchise, while Zac Efron will reprise his role as Teddy, the muscled-out leader of the frat next door.
“I could do a TED talk on how to throw a fake party,” director Nicholas Stoller told EW, mentioning a Max Max-inspired party. “I’ve thrown at least 20 times more fake parties than real parties, and my real parties are so much worse.”
That particular party wasn’t Seth Rogen’s favorite to film.
“That one was both a lot of fun and a nightmare to shoot,” Rogen told EW. “Anytime I’m shirtless next to Zac Efron for really long periods, it even gets to me eventually.”
Neighbors 2 hits theaters on May 20.
