We finally know what J.Lo’s first line is in “I’m Real” and the internet is having a meltdown

Back in the early 2000s, the “I’m Real” remix by Jennifer Lopez and Ja Rule was everywhere: on the radio, on mix CDs playing in our boom boxes, and forever stuck in your head. But apparently, many people have been singing one of the lyrics completely wrong this whole time — J.Lo’s very first line, in fact. And now, everyone can finally know the truth, thanks to Jezebel’s discovery.

In the beginning of the song, Ja Rule asks her, “What’s my m-f’in name?” and her response is kind of difficult to understand. Is she asking a question? Mumbling some words? Nope, what she actually does is spell out “R-U-L-E,” as in his name: Ja Rule.

The revelation is hitting people pretty hard. false
