Fifth Harmony’s Lauren Jauregui wasn’t arrested for possession of marijuana
Despite reports, it appears that Fifth Harmony’s Lauren Jauregui was not arrested for possession of cannabis.
Yesterday (December 14th) it was reported by TMZ that Jauregui had been arrested at Washington Dulles International Airport, Virginia, for possession of marijuana after being stopped by TSA officers at a checkpoint and undergoing a secondary search where a bag of cannabis was found in her carry-on luggage. TMZ alleged that the 20-year-old singer had been arrested at the airport by law enforcement officers and stopped from travelling to Brazil with the rest of her group.
However, new information from the singer’s attorney has contradicted these claims.

In a statement given to TMZ, Jauregui’s attorney said that the singer hadn’t been arrested or detained and had, in fact, been “given a citation for possession of marijuana and released on her own recognizance.”
The singer was forced to miss a show in Brazil with her band Fifth Harmony, who soldiered on without one of their members.
Despite having to miss the concert, representatives for the star said that the incident would not prevent the her from anymore engagements with the group.
“This will not interfere with any future scheduled performances or activities,” they said.

Lauren recently penned an open letter where she came out as bisexual.
The letter was directed at Trump supporters, and addressed her Cuban-American history.
"I am a bisexual Cuban-American woman and I am so proud of it. I am proud to be part of a community that only projects love and education and the support of one another," she wrote. "I am proud to be the granddaughter and daughter of immigrants who were brave enough to leave their homes and come to a whole new world with a different language and culture and immerse themselves fearlessly to start a better life for themselves and their families."
The star has also tweeted out her distaste for the new President-elect.
My heart goes out to every innocent man, woman, and child that has had their life turn to terror because of greedy men's quest for legacy.
