8 Fictional Characters Who Love Food As Much As We Do

If there’s one sure-fire way to create a relatable character, it’s to make that character obsessed with snacks. All the best people love food and with good reasons: it’s delicious, it’s communal, it’s celebratory, and it’s full of passion. So it’s no coincidence some of our most beloved fictional characters have been monster snackers. Let’s take a look at the evidence:

1. Liz Lemon

Liz Lemon loves to eat garbage. We love to eat garbage. And so we love Liz Lemon. Liz Lemon loves Sabor de Soledad, Cheesy Blasterz, and workin’ on her night cheese. If you’ve ever sung a song about a particular snack, while stuffing your face with said snack, you can relate.

2. Leslie Knope

It comes as no surprise that Leslie Knope is on a Liz Lemon level of food love when it comes to her waffles at JJ’s diner. And don’t you dare feed them to a dog to get them to poop or Leslie will tackle you into a giant pile of trash. With good reason.

3. Cookie Monster

He’s not a monster because he loves cookies. He’s a monster and he loves cookies.

4. Michaelangelo

When nobody understands the strange toppings you like on your pizza, turn to your favorite local teenage mutant ninja turtle. So unfair that his weird cravings get excused just because he’s a teenager, a turtle, and a mutant.

5. The Gilmore Girls

Now this I can relate to – a mother and daughter who love to eat everything. At once. In between unbelievably speedy and witty bites of dialogue, of course.

6. Joey Tribbiani

How you doin’? If showing up and seeing people eating cheesecake off the floor and then seamlessly joining the party with a fork at the ready isn’t total devotion to the cause, I don’t know what is.

7. The Golden Girls

Speaking of cheesecake…it fixes at least 147 problems if you’re a slightly senior group of gals.

8. Homer Simpson

One of his catchphrases is drooling. That’s not even a phrase. It’s a physical reaction to food. We should all bow to Homer.
