Fergie teared up while talking about her split from Josh Duhamel

Talking about relationships that didn’t work out can be hard, which is why we always feel tons of love for the celebs who open up about their love lives on national television. In fact, Fergie, recently teared up while talking about breaking up with Josh Duhamel on the Wendy Williams Show, which airs this Thursday. Fergie and Duhamel, both 42 years old, announced that they were separating last month after eight years of marriage.

Fergie told Williams, "It wasn’t my plan. I wanted to stay married forever." Then, while choking up, she continued, "I love Josh, he’s the father of my child…You’re making me cry. We forever have that project together and we’re doing the best we can.

Fergie and Duhamel announced their separation this past September in a joint statement. They wrote, “With absolute love and respect we decided to separate as a couple earlier this year. To give our family the best opportunity to adjust, we wanted to keep this a private matter before sharing it with the public. We are and will always be united in our support of each other and our family.”

As you can imagine, it was just getting too hard to keep pretending for their fans that they were still together. The Black Eyed Peas singer told People.com last month, “Honestly, it was just getting a little weird for us with all the romantic questions. We’re great friends, we love each other so much, and it just got to the point where it was getting a little weird. There’s no perfect time so we just decided to do it.”

Ugh, ripping off that Band-Aid and actually making a breakup official is never, ever easy. We feel you, Fergie. And big girls definitely do cry, so feel free to let it out.
