I’m the kind of girl who has some form of ChapStick, lip balm, or lip gloss in every bag I own. I have dry lips, and there’s arguably no worse feeling than that dry, cracked, stiff feeling. I went through two rounds of Accutane (the acne drug that literally shrinks your oil glands and dries out your skin), so hoarding lip balm became necessary to re-hydrate my lips. I’ve tried dozens of lip treatments, and I can honestly say that the Fenty Beauty Pro Kiss’r Lip Balm is the best one.
Like pretty much everything in Rihanna’s high-quality beauty line, the product first drew me in because of its packaging. It looks clean, chic, and geometric—everything Rihanna makes looks expensive. However, the price point isn’t astronomical when compared to other luxury beauty brands. And look, I’d usually scoff at the idea of spending more than $5 on a lip balm, but I know that anything with Rihanna’s name attached to it is probably going to be high quality. Plus, as I said, I’m a bit of a lip balm hoarder.
The Fenty Beauty Pro Kiss’r Lip Balm comes in the same type of squeezy tube that some other lip balms do. These, IMHO, are the best kind since they won’t crack or leak all over your pocket or bag. What sets this Fenty Beauty one apart from the others is its unique doe-foot applicator like you’d find in a lip gloss. It’s probably the softest, fluffiest, plushest applicator I’ve ever used, which makes it feel so satisfying when I apply it.
The formula isn’t thick or sticky; instead, it’s lightweight, smoothing, and hydrating. Just a few glides of the universally flattering “invisipink” sheen creates a naturally polished look that’s perfect for everyday wear.
Rihanna doesn’t play when it comes to her formulas, either. The Fenty Beauty Pro Kiss’r Lip Balm uses all vegan ingredients and includes standout nourishing ingredients like shea butter and mango seed butter. It also has a subtle vanilla scent, which adds to the luxe feeling I get when applying. A little goes a long way with this formula: Just one dip of the applicator is needed to cover my lips. It makes them feel more moisturized and look a little more plump. Even after the shine has worn off, my lips feel hydrated for hours.
Lately, I’ve been wearing less makeup due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) quarantine, but the Fenty Beauty Pro Kiss’r Lip Balm has continued to be a part of my daily routine. Whether I swipe it on before a Zoom meeting to feel a little more put-together or use it as an overnight lip mask, it’s the pick-me-up my lips need when they’re feeling dry. One thing’s for sure: This lip balm is getting a permanent place in my purse.
