This food blogger made a magically lucky “Harry Potter” cocktail

All Harry Potter fans have thought about what they’d do if they got their hands on a vial of Felix Felicis, the “liquid luck” potion Harry wins from Professor Slughorn in The Half-Blood Prince. For those who aren’t Potterheads, Felix Felicis gives the drinker a day where they can do anything they set their minds to, with Lady Luck on their side.

Of course, the potion does not really exist in this lame Muggle world, but one food blogger has made it come to life in the form of a delicious cocktail that every Potterhead will want to try.

Shirin Mehrotra from Mumbai, who writes on her blog Foodchants, conjured up the recipe based on what she imagined it to be. “Felix Felicis was something that I wanted to make for a very long time and always imagined it was a boozy drink that’ll make you slightly tipsy,” she told Mashable. “The concoction that I made was a mix of sweet, sour, [and] bitter with a hint of cinnamon.”

“When I re-read Half Blood Prince earlier this year, I was fixated on Felix Felicis. . . remember how it made Harry appear a bit drunk?” Shirin wrote on the blog.

Yep, we can remember that.

The drink was a part of her “Literary Kitchen Project,” in which she has been cooking dishes from every book she has read with her own signature style. And yes, Shirin is thinking about what recipe she may be able to create from Harry Potter and the Cursed Child.

Here’s the Felix Felicis recipe straight from the blog, and good luck — though we don’t think you’ll need it after a hint of Felix.

If anyone actually tries this Harry Potter cocktail, let us know how it tastes!
