Hold on, supposedly Felicity Jones *could* return as Jyn for more “Star Wars” movies
The latest movie in the Star Wars saga, Rogue One, is now in theaters, and let’s just say it is a HEAVY MOVIE. It’s the first Star Wars movie to really deal with the “war” part of the Star Wars, and during the course of the movie, we see how this takes a toll on our heroes. This is also a one-and-done movie, and no, there won’t be a Rogue Two. However, in a very surprising twist, it turns out Felicity Jones *could* return as Jyn in the future—
And hold on, what?
If you’ve seen the movie, you know how it ends. If you haven’t seen the movie then oh gosh what are you doing here, go away until you’ve seen Rogue One!
At the end of Rogue One, after successfully stealing the plans for the Death Star, and successfully beaming them up to the Rebel ships above Scarif, the Death Star decides to see just how ~operational~ it can be. The Empire Base on Scarif is destroyed, and that means our heroes are killed, including Cassian…and Jyn.
However, according to The Hollywood Reporter, Felicity Jones actually has a clause in her Star Wars contract stating that she could return for a sequel and say whaaaaaaaaaat? Supposedly, it would just be for one sequel, but STILL.
What does this even MEAN? Well, knowing how the movie ends, it’s not like Jyn could join up with the Rebels again (unless, she comes back as Force Ghost Jyn, and seriously, that would be awesome). More than likely, this sequel wouldn’t really be a sequel, but rather some sort of prequel — and probably not a prequel about Jyn. There is that Young Han Solo movie, you know, and it’s highly likely that badass Jyn crossed paths with scruffy-looking nerf herder Han at some point in time.
In short, if you’re hoping for way more Jyn in your life, don’t give up hope. It sounds like this feisty heroine is here to stay.
