We feel ya, girl: Jennifer Lawrence says she is DONE being a bridesmaid

If you’ve ever been the bridesmaid, you’ll understand why Jennifer Lawrence says she is DONE being a bridesmaid in this month’s Vanity Fair. Lawrence is known for her many roles in such films as Silver Linings Playbook, The Hunger Games saga, and American Hustle (just to name a few), with her latest role in Passengers, alongside Chris Pratt. She’s arguably hit her stride in the film industry and has quickly become one of today’s leading ladies. Among being one of the highest grossing actresses in Hollywood, her ability to speak out about the gender wage gap (referring to her role in American Hustle) in a Lenny Letter is refreshing, as is her candor on most subjects — like not reprising her role as bridesmaid for the fifth time!

The actress tells VF, “All of my friends are getting married and having babies. Weddings rock, but I will never be a bridesmaid again. There needs to be a bridesmaids’ union. It’s horrendous. If anyone asks me again, I’m going to say, ‘No. That part of my life is over. I appreciate the ask.’ If I do ever get married, I don’t think I will have bridesmaids. How can I rank my friends?

She goes on to talk about her need to stay busy, with a few movies coming up soon. J-Law is set on putting her career first at this time in her life, meaning, the planning of a wedding of her own isn’t even on her radar and that’s okay!

“I don’t like waking up with nothing to do or going to sleep without accomplishing anything, Lawrence says. “That really depresses me.

Lawrence rings so true to most women because she’s so real and down-to-earth. With an affinity for The Real Housewives and Beyoncé’s Lemonade, it’s clear she’s just like the rest of us.

I am playing a ballerina in my next movie, so my first step is not drinking alcohol for every meal of the day. Obviously I’m still drinking every day."

With 20 films to her credit now, it’s easy to see why she’s A-List. But it’s her sense of humor that keeps us wanting more. As for the bridesmaid feels, we’re so with her. Besides, four times is probably a solid number to end on.
