We’ve got your February Netflix to-do list right here
Titanic. The Breakfast Club. Love Actually. Goodburger. Netflix purged a lot of great movies and TV shows last month, leaving us scrambling to binge watch eight seasons of Desperate Housewives. Luckily, every time they delete some of the classics (The Wedding Planner, anyone?) they re-stock their digital shelves to keep things fresh and interesting.
You’ve Got Mail might be gone, but there are a host of new titles to enjoy in its place. (Also, don’t you have it on VHS?) OK fellow binger-watchers, here are some of the movies and TV shows that just arrived, or are arriving, on Netflix this month. It’s a solid line-up. Prepare to not leave your house for a while.
M.A.S.H.—Feb 1
This Korean War comedy had eleven seasons, and the first five are coming your way soon. M.A.S.H. is the perfect candidate for your next binge-watch (if you don’t believe me, just ask your parents).
Gimme Shelter–Feb. 1
This emotional indie drama stars Vanessa Hudgens as a pregnant teen who runs away from her mom and attempts to reconnect with her estranged father. Want to feel old? Her parents are played by Rosario Dawson and Brendan Fraser.
Dark Ride— Feb. 1
For Netflix horror junkies, a new addition arrived this month. The campy flick (which features a grown up Patrick Renna of The Sandlot!) follows a group of friends stalked by a killer in a creepy amusement park. So basically, the title of the movie says it all.
Proof— Feb. 1
Gwyneth Paltrow and Jake Gyllenhaal star in the movie adaptation of the Pulitzer-Prize-winning play about grief, math and family baggage. It’s a smart tear-jerker, and it’s worth the watch.
Gucci: The Director— Feb. 1
Documentaries are having a moment, and this one follows Frida Giannini, the chief designer of Gucci, as she expanded the brand to Asia. Considering she left the company this past December, this is guaranteed to be drama-filled.
The Two Faces of January— Feb. 12
Kirsten Dunst stars in this period thriller (with an 82% score on Rotten Tomatoes) about a wealthy American couple who meet up with a clever con-artist during their tour of Greece and Turkey, and end up embroiled in a murder plot. Yes, please.
White Bird in a Blizzard—Feb. 19
Shailene Woodley is the new queen of young adult book-turned-movie flicks, and we couldn’t love it more. After The Fault in Our Stars and Divergent, the actress took on this fantasy/drama about teenager whose mom suddenly disappears.
RoboCop (the new one!) —Feb 21
Who doesn’t love an ’80s remake about the dystopian future and a bionic cop who takes the law into his own hands? Don’t answer that question, just watch the movie. It’s long but it’s pretty dang fun.
House of Cards— Feb. 27
It’s been a whole year, but season three is finally upon us! The new episodes are released Friday the 27th, so you should probably take a vacation day and clear your calendar now. As if you need more convincing, new season’s trailer is ridic.
What, you want more Netflix awesomeness? Here’s the full list of February titles.
