Where I live now: San Antonio. I’m forever a Texas girl, big hair and all.
Fave book of ALL time: Pride & Prejudice. Timeless.
Person who inspires me the most: Gosh, there are so many. I love positive people who are passionate about things and love to laugh. Those people inspire me the most.
What made me want to become a writer: I’m an only child and grew up with my head in a book. I even have a vague recollection of getting in trouble on a Hawaiian tour bus for reading my Nancy Drew book instead of looking out the window. So books have always been very important to me. I love stories and words, so I think becoming a writer was inevitable.
Music I listen to when I write: The sound of my coffee maker kicking into gear. *wink*
Fave place to work: I love to write at a cupcake bakery in my neighborhood called Bird Bakery. It’s incredibly gorgeous, and I feel like I’m in Paris when I’m there. I call the people who work there my Birdies, and they’re very kind to let me sit there for hours on end. I had a launch party for one of my books at Bird, and it was amazing.
Writers I look up to: Nora Roberts, because she is such a giant in my genre. The Lifetime Achievement Award in romance writing is literally named after her. I also look up to JK Rowling for so many, many reasons. She’s the most successful writer of this generation. She could kick back and do nothing the rest of her life, but not only is she still writing, she’s creating completely new pen names, series and characters, experimenting with new genres. That tells me how passionate she is about writing, and I love that so much.

This is the best meme: Forever and always the Ryan Gosling Hey Girl meme.
My favorite story I wrote/made for HelloGiggles is… I love ballet and dance, so the interview I did for TeenGiggles with young ballet star Juliet Doherty was a huge fangirl experience. Also the essays I wrote about Princess Diana and about visiting Sylvia Plath’s London home (my first piece for HelloGiggles!), because they were so personally meaningful to me. Yes, I know. I totally went rogue and picked three. Oops. Also all of the cute animal stories. Okay, I’ll stop now.
The title of my memoir would be… I Probably Wore a Tutu While I Wrote This
