Some of our favorite series have STILL not been renewed, and here’s their status
Are you waiting on the edge of your seat for your favorite series to be renewed? The anticipation is torture. Moreover, the state of limbo is not okay for our binge-watching needs. The industry insider platform Deadline published a renewal status report. The report coves many shows, including Once Upon a Time, 2 Broke Girls, and all of the Chicago projects.
Here’s the scoop of what we have to look forward to in terms of renewals. And what we can hope for with possible negotiations.
CBS
First of all, this network is on their game. They locked in 19 series with only a few left without a renewal. 2 Broke Girls is in its sixth season. Furthermore, it holds the record high for the “biggest off-networks comedy series sale.” However, The Great Indoors, The Odd Couple, and Code Black are likely to fade away.
ABC
This network renewed Grey’s Anatomy, Scandal, The Middle, and How to Get Away With Murder. Additionally, chances for Designated Survivor and Once Upon a Time are promising. Once’s reimagining of characters had viewers on the edge of their seats. But negotiations call for a renewal of the veteran show. Furthermore, the comedy lineup for ABC is set in stone. Modern Family, Black-ish, and American Housewife all did well in ratings. However, the low ratings of The Real O’Neals and Imaginary Mary will likely result in cancellation.
FOX
The new drama Exorcist is bound to bounce back for renewal, as is Gotham. However, after Season 2 of Rosewood, ratings dropped dramatically. Nevertheless, comedies on FOX look promising. Brooklyn Nine-Nine and New Girl are still going strong. Furthermore, The Last Man and Son of Zorn may earn a proper send-off.
NBC
Naturally, Law & Order: SVU will return after 18 seasons on the network. Chicago Med, Chicago Justice, Chicago Fire, and Chicago PD all have varying potential outcomes. The first two may not continue because the “financial relationship between Wolf and NBC is complex.” Moreover, the latter Chicago shows are performing incredibly well. Not surprisingly, The Celebrity Apprentice will most likely lay low for a while.
