These were our favorite fashion looks from the Emmys red carpet
Last night’s Emmys proved a formidable fashion display, with the red carpet rivaling even the most illustrious of runway shows. Underwhelmed, we most ~definitely~ were not. In fact, the 2017 Emmys red carpet shaped up to be one of the most exciting presentations we’ve ever seen the awards show host. Which also meant that there was no shortage of meticulously styled women in attendance.
If you ask us, we think every lady that set foot on the Emmys red carpet deserved to take home a trophy for best dressed. These stars and their glam squads put in ample effort, and everyone looked lovely.
If we had to narrow it down, however, we’d say these 17 looks stole the spotlight as our favorites of the bunch. From dresses that rivaled actual works of art to gowns that took out breath away, these are our picks for the most stunning ensembles to grace the Emmys red carpet.
1Tracee Ellis Ross
A Chanel Haute Couture gown through and through, this gown was literally weighed down with exquisite details: 70,000 crystal flowers, silver mirrors, and glass beads, and a skirt full of hand-painted feathers and tulle pompoms. “This dress is so heavy you can’t even believe it!” her stylist, Karla Welch, told People.
2Thandie Newton
This is what every princess dreams her gown could be like! This Jason Wu confection proved elegant, ethereal, and a breath of fresh air.
3Millie Bobby Brown
At 13, the Stranger Things actress has sharper sartorial instincts than most actress’ twice her age. And once again, she knocked it out of the park in this ballerina-esque Calvin Klein confection.
4Viola Davis
Orange ya glad Viola picked this Zac Posen gown? (C’mon, we had to!). The actress was a pure ray of citrusy sunshine in this sophisticated design.
5Nicole Kidman
The Emmy winner’s Calvin Klein by Appointment tea-length dress did not want for details, with 24 yards of silk made from 34 panels.
