Our fave stars are all wearing dark lipstick and now it’s all we want

Mention summer lipstick and we find ourselves imagining bubble gum hues, vibrant fuchsias, or fancy-free shades of red. This summer though is looking like the summer of dark, almost goth, lipstick shades and we are here for it.

The latest lady we love to layer on the dark lipstick is Lucy Hale. She opted for this eggplant hue and now we’re searching for that exact shade everywhere online. Help?

And who can forget Beyoncé pulling off a similar shade just last week:

And then there’s Kylie Jenner, who recently released a completely chic black lip kit.

What’s the origin story for this dark lipstick trend? Well it’s pretty ’90s, remember Drew Barrymore rocking shades like this?

But also, the fall runways for 2016 had a whole lot of darker lip colors with shades from onyx to bordeaux being the biggest trends.
