This sweet “Father of the Bride” reunion is exactly what we needed today

It’s been the era of reunions since streaming companies found their way into our hearts, resurrecting long-dead faves for a comforting nostalgia fix we really kinda need lately. And now, we’ve got one more to add to the list — although unfortunately it’s not the preamble to a sequel film. Maybe next time?
The stars of Father of the Bride recently reunited and just seeing them together fills us with a ridiculous amount of joy. If you’re not familiar with Father of the Bride, we’re going to need you to track down the classic flick STAT so we can trust you again.
At Nashville’s Grand Ole Opry, Steve Martin, Martin Short, and Kimberly Williams-Paisley posed for a legendary photo together and we’re just very emotional about it, honestly.
Steve Martin played the titular father of the bride, George Banks, and Martin Short played wedding planner Franck Eggelhoffer. Kimberly Williams-Paisley was the bride, Annie. The only complaint we have about this reunion is that we’re really missing Diane Keaton from this mix because she’s always a serious fav.
However, the cockles of our hearts are extra-warmed when we found out this wasn’t a chance meeting. Kimberly Williams-Paisley went to meet up with Martin and Short intentionally! Martin and Short were starring in a show at the Grand Ole Opry, so Williams-Paisley went to see them and their show. Awwwww.
Basically, this is the sweetest family reunion ever and we’re going to be floating on this cloud of happiness and nostalgia for a good long time.
