Stella McCartney will sell a select few replicas of Meghan Markle's wedding reception dress
If you swooned when you saw Meghan Markle‘s second wedding dress, you’re in luck. The Stella McCartney halterneck gown that the Duchess of Sussex wore to her reception will be made available in limited quantities.
The designer is making 23 replicas of the dress in lily white and 23 in onyx black through the Made with Love edit, The Telegraph reports. McCartney is making 23 in each color as a nod to her recently opened global flagship store at 23 Old Bond Street in London. Each dress will be priced at £3,500, which is approximately $4,643.66. While expensive, it’s not outrageous considering that many wedding designer dresses sell within this price range.
The replicas will be almost identical to the duchess’s dress with only one major difference. Unlike Meghan’s gown, the Made with Love dresses will be made in sustainable viscose while Meghan’s was silk crepe. McCartney promises that the change in fabric won’t affect the design’s overall effect.
If all of this seems a bit too good to be true, you’re kind of right. The dresses won’t be available to just anyone. You must receive a personal invitation from McCartney herself. So if you’re interested, e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org in order to be considered.
The silver lining is that McCartney has plans to extend the Made with Love edit into a special wedding collection in spring 2019, a spokesperson told The Telegraph. Fingers crossed.
