Beyoncé’s new album, Lemonade, has been breaking records worldwide. It’s the sixth consecutive Beyoncé album to be #1 on the U.S. iTunes charts, which is the most #1 albums by any female artist ever. “Formation” was the #1 song in the U.S. for multiple days after Lemonade dropped.
Lemonade sold over 500,000 copies within its first four days of release. Beyoncé also broke Twitter records by being tweeted about over four million times within 48 hours of Lemonade’s debut. Before she even announced her next single, multiple songs from the album were dominating the iTunes songs chart.
We all know that Beyoncé is a multitalented woman who creates incredible music with important messages, but did you know that Solange Knowles may have known about and hinted at Lemonade as far back as three years ago?
That’s right; Beyoncé’s sister and fellow musician, Solange, wore a lemon-printed dress by Alice + Olivia in 2013 to the well-known music festival, Coachella. It retails for $396 and it’s called the “Candice A Line Dress.” Unfortunately, shopbop.com seems to be the only retailer that carried the dress and it is no longer available.
It gets even better. Solange posted a photo of herself wearing the dress and holding a lemon in her hand on her Instagram account. The plot thickens.
This may remind you of a similar Instagram post by Beyoncé in September of 2015:
Of course, there is no confirmation that Solange or even Beyoncé knew about Lemonade yet in 2013, but it does seem like lemons have played an important role in the Knowles family in recent years.
