Rihanna is the rare celebrity who can truly wear anything. Perhaps because she’s confident, talented, and powerful — Rihanna is one of the few people who makes wearing clothes an event.

Case in point, Rihanna’s all-denim Tom Ford ensemble with matching boots that are giving us flashbacks to ’80s leg warmers.

Rih showed off this look in New York during an interview at Vogue’s Forces of Fashion conference.

Without realizing the ’80s vibes she was pulling in her footwear, Rihanna brought up the cyclical nature of fashion during her interview. “Fashion always has a way of coming full circle,” Rihanna told Vogue‘s Hamish Bowles. “Now I’m seeing on the runway looks that my mom wore, and I’m like, does that mean that I’m old or that it’s new and fresh? That’s my favorite stuff.”

It’s been enough years that the leg warmer is overdue to come back in style again. If anyone is going shepherd us into the third-coming of the leg warmer, it’s Rihanna.

“For me there aren’t many boundaries with fashion, really,” Rihanna continued at the Vogue event. “I want to do everything and in the most extreme way possible.”

It’s only a short step from slouchy boots to throwing it all the way back and making leg warmers happen again. We’ll wait for your stylish guidance, Rih.
