The runway and the red carpet is a symbiotic relationship. A designer creates a dress, a celebrity wears it to some event, and a huge audience is introduced to a gown that might ordinarily only be seen by a smaller collective of people who are ~into~ fashion.  One of the reasons we love awards season so much is the opportunity to see a kind of “best of” that season’s hottest collections. Dior, Marchesa, Gucci OH MY!

Here are some recent runway looks and the famous ladies who styled them IRL.

1Krysten Ritter

Ritter could samba her way right onto the Dancing With the Stars stage in this look by Julien Macdonald.

2Elizabeth Olsen

We think Olsen’s famous twin sisters would definitely approve of this Dior gown that is giving us witchy vibes.

3Nicole Kidman

This Zuhair Murad gown almost becomes a new dress on Kidman once it’s transferred from the runway to the red carpet.

4Kendall Jenner

While the model looks like she’s wearing a summer dress by Zimmerman, Jenner rocked the frock for a night out in New York City.

5Cara Delevingne

Delevingne turned this sheer little Margiela frock into a va-va-va-voom stunner with the addition of the over-the-knee Louboutins.

6Jennifer Lawrence

The queen of Dior naturally chose the designer (err, we supposed she’s contractually obligated to “choose” them, but still) to wear to the Paris premiere of her new horror film Mother!

7Rihanna

Rihanna wore this beautiful crimson Giambattista Valli couture gown and will forever be cemented in our brains as her princess moment.
