Going ’90s chic at a London screening of La La Land on Thursday, Emma Stone rocked a red slip dress and won the award for fiercest red carpet look of the night.

The deep ruby slip is from Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen’s ready-to-wear brand The Row and, paired with Stone’s retro wave hairstyle and simple black ankle-strap sandals, it captured both the essence of Old Hollywood glamour (perfect for a screening of La La Land) and the era in which Stone came of age.

What’s more, Stone’s makeup artist, Rachel Goodwin, effortlessly matched Stone’s lip color to the frock’s garnet hue, tying the whole look together with a stylish flourish.

The sexy, streamlined look was a departure from Stone’s red carpet style of late: At the Golden Globes this weekend, she wore a sweet, star-covered Valentino gown — sexy, yes, but much more kitschy and eclectic.

And at a Paris screening of La La Land on Tuesday, her dress was boho-meets flapper — a little unusual, but still totally fabulous. (And she wore the same shoes Tuesday as she did Thursday night!)
