Decorating graduation caps is a symbolic endeavor. Hey, you’ve probably spent the last four years (at least!) working hard — the least you can do is celebrate by writing one final message on your cap. A symbolic last hoorah, many students take to Instagram to share their creations. Some are artistic, some are clever, and then some are downright genius. Case in point? That of University of Southern California graduate student Alexandra Del Salto, who decorated her graduation cap with real pupusas.

Yes, actual pupusas. The delicious tortilla stuffed with filling found its home on Alexandra’s cap.

Decorated with two pupusas, Loteria cards, and “YAS QUEEN,” this graduation cap covers literally every base for what we love. Not only is it delectable, but it signifies the resilience that comes with being a Latinx graduate.

In an interview with Remezcla, the graduate says,

Although we’re not sure how she got the pupusas on her cap, apparently they didn’t stay on the entire ceremony. That, in part, could be because some people were trying to eat said pupusas. But truly, these look so tasty — we would probably do the same thing!

We can’t wait to see what other delicious treats people put on their caps! For now, we’re just thankful for Alexandra and her pupusatastic cap.
