Princess Charlene of Monaco traded her tiara for a strapless silver jumpsuit, and proved that modern royals should take fashion risks
Princess Charlene of Monaco never fails to impress us when it comes to style. On Friday, Princess Charlene wowed the world in a metallic jumpsuit, and we must say we are still in awe. Princess Charlene’s appearance was part of the 69th Annual Red Cross Ball Gala held at Sporting Monte-Carlo, which she attended alongside her husband, Prince Albert II.
After last year’s dress — a custom lilac and blue stunner of a gown by Armani Privé — she had a lot to live up to. Princess Charlene’s sequined, strapless ensemble was certainly a showstopper, paired with a flawless smoky eye look and her iconic platinum blonde locks.
Princess Charlene has hit our radar as one of the most stylish royals of all time. The 39-year-old never fails to have absolutely killer, one-of-a-kind style, and she’s not afraid to take risks. From bold red lips to elaborate high-collared gowns, she always looks flawless.
Let’s take a quick look at the jumpsuit from all angles.

From the back:
The former Olympic swimmer grew up in South Africa and married Prince Albert II in 2011. (She also has a striking resemblance to her fellow South African, Atomic Blonde star Charlize Theron.) Charlene competed in the 2000 Olympics is Sydney, Australia, and traded in her swimsuit a few years later for a crown.
She’s now the proud mother to two adorable twins, Prince Jacques and Princess Gabriella. The twins turn three in December, and though they’ve maintained a pretty low profile, they’ve had a few adorable public outings.
In November, the twins made an appearance in honor of Monaco’s National Day, a countrywide celebration and major annual affair. The twins wore matching white jackets and looked radiant alongside their beaming parents. (These two are giving Prince George and Princess Charlotte a run for their money.)
Of course, Princess Charlene looked amazing in a rose-adorned wide-brimmed hat, with bright red lips and pearls.
