To be fair, minimal jewelry had a good run. Niecy Nash’s September Essence cover has us seriously contemplating retiring the Etsy-esque, dainty, layered aesthetic in favor of something on the bolder side.

Can we just take a minute to appreciate all parts of her cover, though? She is representing for the curvy girls in a gold bodycon type of dress, Niecy’s hair and makeup are flawless, and her neutral mani is perfectly chic. By now, you’re probably used to seeing her fingertips doing the absolute most on her hit show Claws on TNT (which was recently renewed for a second season!) but we’re loving her just as much in this nude polish.

Inside the issue, Niecy serves up three more goddess lewks, punctuated with over-the-top jewelry and accessories.

Girlllll, you betta lean on that door!

Niecy’s cover-worthy manicure was done by none other than Gracie J, who’s also the lead nail artist on Claws.

If you’re not already drinking the Niecy Nash Kool Aid, now’s the time to take a big sip. She’s working mom inspo, body positivity, and we have a special place in our hearts for anyone who can pull off a blinged out, multicolored, camo print mani. That takes skills.

We had the chance to chat with the one and only Niecy back in June about favorite drugstore beauty, body confidence, and, of course, she blessed us with a pretty epic quote about the importance of self-love. We asked about her viral swimsuit selfie and here’s what she had to say.

"I usually never do that sort of a thing but it was a real place that I was in. I put that swimsuit on and I was like, “Wait a minute. What is all this extra I got going on?” And I was so hard on myself and then I heard all of the women in my head who affirm me and built me up. Their words started to come back to me. It blessed me so in the moment that their words took root. I felt like, “Don’t be selfish. Somebody else may need to hear that."

Amen to that.
