Zendaya is one of the most fearless style risk-takers in Hollywood today. She’s constantly rocking bold, unique looks, whether it’s her tuxedo-and-blonde-mullet look from this year’s Grammy Awards or a silver turtleneck and futuristic see-through skirt at last December’s Star Wars: The Force Awakens premiere. We definitely weren’t at all surprised when the teen icon got her very own Barbie doll or recently announced that she might have a clothing line in the works. But apparently, all of those fashion risks we already knew about were only the half of it.

Zendaya’s stylist recently revealed spoke about that time the singer-actress took her fashion risk-taking to the next level with a pair of (almost-literally) killer heels.

You may have remembered the time (last year) Zendaya took to Instagram about the shoes, saying “When people say the 130mm @louboutinworld aren’t meant to walk in but you just take that as a challenge.” Now we know EXACTLY how crazy these shoes were (that’s right — Zendaya was NOT exaggerating!).

Law Roach is Zendaya’s stylist, friend, and also the co-creative director of her uber-affordable Spring 2017 line of shoes, Daya by Zendaya. On August 12th, he gave an interview to Footwear News, where he reflected on his own career, his work with the young fashion maven and Disney star, and on how Zendaya’s style has evolved over the years since she rose to prominence. In particular, he shared his memory of the 2015 Radio Disney Music Awards red carpet, where Zendaya decided she would rock a pair of Loubotins with a pitch that’s six inches. As in, walk in them.

“Christian Louboutin makes this pump — a single sole pump — it’s called the Hot Chick. It has a pitch that’s straight up and six inches,” Law Roach explained. “She made me find them for her, and we decided she would wear them to the red carpet of the Radio Disney Music Awards last year.”

Oh my god, my feet hurt just thinking about this! And yet somehow, it gets worse.

Apparently, rumor has it that these particular Louboutins were not even designed to be worn outside. Yet, Zendaya saw a challenge and decided she had to take it. “She put them on and said, ‘This isn’t so bad.’ Literally eight minutes into the walk to the carpet, I was holding her up because her legs were buckling,” Law Roach recalled. “She did the carpet and she walked off, and we had to carry her a little bit until she took the shoe off. But she did it.”

Sure enough, the beautiful heels (which retail for $895) “may be built more for posing than walking,” according to the official designer’s description. That. Is. Madness. We already knew that Zendaya was a total style icon, but her high fashion sensibilities apparently know no bounds. It’s no surprise that Zendaya managed to walk the red carpet in those heels – which are admittedly fabulous, though terrifying – she’s on another level altogether.

Keep on slaying, Zendaya!
