Lauren Conrad's latest Kohl's collection is a velvet lover's dream, and goodbyeeeee money
Listen up, lovers of velvet, shine, moody/fall colors, unicorns, and the like. The third LC Lauren Conrad Runway collection has all that, and is now available at Kohl’s. And Conrad herself and Kohl’s hosted a Girls’ Night Out party at Beauty & Essex in Los Angeles on Wednesday to mark the occasion.
The capsule collection, Downtown Glam, marks the brand’s foray into plus (!!!).
It features girls’ night out looks, and includes “elevated dresses, off-the-shoulder tops, detailed pants and statement jackets in regular (sizes XS-XXL and 0-18) and plus (sizes 0X – 3X), along with accessories including shoes, handbags, sunglasses and fashion jewelry,” according to a press release.
Prices range from $12 to $154, but can you really put a price on looking like fire, while setting fire to the dance floor with your ladies? That, dear readers, is a rhetorical question.
Here’s just one of many gems that were on display at the event:
Floral Fit and Flare Dress, buy here for $50.99.
And here are more items I want to add to my cart:
Velvet Popover Slip Dress, buy here for $50.99.
Ruffle Midi Dress, buy here for $54.99.
And another that I might have just imprinted on:
Velvet Cold Shoulder Top, buy here for $21.99.
Well, goodbye money. It was nice knowing you.
My absolute favorite has to be LC’s blue, faux-fur jacket.
And guess what, Conrad told HelloGiggles that it’s one of her favorites, too — she even wore it to the event. At least, for a little while. “I tried to wear it over this [dress], but it was a little too toasty.” We’re sure she’ll get use out of it when the weather cools down.
Faux-Fur Jacket, buy here for $111.99.
Speaking of the event, let’s get back to that — because it was like walking into Conrad’s famed Instagram.
The venue was picture-perfect with bright, colorful flowers and gold, shimmering disco balls. There, Conrad told HelloGiggles about how thrilled she is to, at last, introduce plus sizes.
Girl, we’re stoked too. What’s more, she said that part of the inspiration behind her maternity line, which is also available at Kohl’s, was that she wanted to create the type of clothes that she couldn’t find, but hoped to, while pregnant. “I wanted to include a couple kind of easy bodycon, but then things that were more consistent with my everyday style,” she said at the event. “I wanted to dress like me still, I just needed different silhouettes.”
And you didn’t think we’d chat with LC without asking about The Hills, did you? We are HUMAN after all. Conrad said that she really hasn’t gone back to watch episodes since they originally aired, with the exception of the pilot around the time she filmed MTV’s 10th anniversary special for the beloved reality show.
But, she did indulge this The Hills superfan — plus, HelloGiggles’ Associate Editor Anna Gragert and Entertainment Editor Rachel Paige — in a photo.
Because, sometimes life works out and you get to meet your teen idols.
LC Lauren Conrad Runway’s Downtown Glam collection is available at Kohl’s now, and sorry in advance for ruining your budget.
