There are many things that come to mind when we think of Kim Kardashian in a tracksuit, and coordinating contrasting textures like a pro is now on the list.

The fashion and beauty mogul was seen wearing a suede, camel trench coat atop a velvet tracksuit while roaming Los Angeles, and although the combination was unexpected, it still managed to work. Kim kept everything else simple, opting for a bronzed eye and naked lip to compliment the look. By incorporating interesting details into her pieces, like an oversized strap on her trench coat and stripes along the side of her track pants, Kim’s look is still eye catching, even though it’s low-key.

Kim can pretty much get away with wearing whatever she wants, but we can still learn a thing or two from her about mixing textures. First off, the fact that isn’t as scary as it sounds. Keep the color palette simple, think cool neutrals like the camel and pitch black Kim wears here, grays, and light colors like baby pink and off white. We can’t pinpoint the exact moment tracksuits became fashionable again, but by wearing hers completely zipped up under her coat, Kim made the look more athleisure and less mid-aughts. Props to you, Kim.
