Need a major midweek pick-me-up? Allow us to present Kerry Washington in a delightfully colorful dress! The Scandal star appeared on Good Morning America Wednesday in a bright, knee-length frock with an asymmetrical hem and high neckline, and promptly put a smile on our faces.

The frock, by designer Peter Pilotto —  a favorite of Washington’s — is from the designer’s Autumn/Winter 2017 collection, and looks much like a decorative silk scarf-turned-frock, with its dipped hemline, bold pattern, and fluttering sleeves. Washington, of course, looked radiant in the dress and amped up its summer fun factor with a pair of deliciously bright blue heeled sandals by Alexandre Birman.

Washington not only smiled for cameras on the streets of New York City in that dress, she also stopped to take selfies with fans, proving she’s a gladiator/champion of the people through and through.

Washington appeared on GMA to discuss the depressing recent news that next season — Scandal‘s seventh! — will be the show’s last. (We are seriously still recovering from this news.)

Said Washington,

She added that the show’s writers, creator, and actors have had to “up [their] ante” to even compete with the real-life drama taking place in Washington, D.C. under the Trump administration.

“I never in my wildest dreams could have imagined that we are ending the season with Olivia Pope who she is,” Washington said. “It’s beyond what I could have imagined.”

Scandal‘s two-hour Season 6 finale airs Thursday night on ABC. Don’t miss it!
