Jessica Chastain tends to err on the side of elegant when it comes to her red carpet selections, often opting for classic silhouettes and bold solid colors. Which is why this baroque style gown is not an obvious choice for the Oscar-nominated actress. What it is, however, is *totally* mesmerizing.

The actress turned heads at the premiere of her new flick, The Zoo Keeper’s Wife, in Los Angeles earlier this week, wearing this Alexander McQueen stunner. A closer look at this dark, fall-perfect design reveals a rich contrast of a silky forest green juxtaposed with velvety black blooms and gold lamé lining.

And with onyx paneling, this dress is basically a luxurious autumn confection. Which may seem odd considering we’re knee-deep in spring fashion these days, but who cares? Jessica looks ~dayum~ good, and she’ll wear whatever she wants!

With its midi-length, sleeveless silhouette and plunging décolletage, this McQueen design is a perfect blend of romance and sophistication with just a tinge of sultry flair.

And look: The pretty green shade of the dress matches her eyes!

With such a bold dress (and cleavage-clad neckline), Jessica kept the jewels to a minimum, skipping the necklace and opting instead for some stunning Piaget diamond earrings. And those pretty black Charlotte Olympia pumps? The perfect finishing touch.

With her gorgeous red hair swept back into a classic ponytail and a dewy bronzed glow, the look was every inch as regal as the Hollywood actress herself.
