We sometimes like to dress like our favorite dessert. After all, you can have your cake and eat it, too. Whether we’re wearing a brown layered dress to make us think of our favorite cookie, or a pink and white number like Gwyneth Paltrow, who reminds us of strawberry shortcake, finding aesthetic inspiration from food is just fun.

Speaking of Gwyneth, her dress is the fashion equivalent of dessert: sweet and happy. The lace frock is also the perfect piece for warmer months when you want something easy to wear that will still make a statement.

We’re imagining wearing this dress as we stroll the Santa Monica pier, matching sneakers on, and pink lemonade in hand. Or maybe instead of strolling the pier, we’re wearing this out for drinks. Or maybe we simply throw it on to get some dessert down the street. Either way, what fun is fashion if there’s not at least a *little* fantasy involved?

Gwyneth wore this dress to a screening of Despicable Me 3, which she arranged with her wellness company Goop.

It may not be the era of getting dressed up to go to the theater, but we can’t deny that Gwyneth hits the bullseye with this chic pink and white dress from Burberry. Paired with nude single-strap sandals and her long hair in soft waves, this look is perfect for being the hostess with the most-ess.

And if you want to steal Gwyneth Paltrow’s style, then look no further.
