It’s officially fall wedding season, and it seems like friends, family, and even random people we’re still friends with on Facebook are getting married. Whether you’re invited to one wedding or ten, there’s still the same underlying anxiety — what are you supposed to wear? A little black dress is always a classic, but what about something more festive? We’re specifically eyeing Gina Rodriguez’s royal blue mesh Vivian Chan dress for our next wedding. Not only is it sexy and unexpected, but it also looks perfect to dance in all night long (which is what *truly* matters in this situation).

This blue midi dress features a simple slip under a long-sleeved mesh overlay, which is like having two killer dresses in one. We know that the bride is supposed to be the center of attention on her big day, but we have a feeling that if you wore this look to a wedding, you’d have plenty of eyes on you too.

Pair the ensemble with a slicked-back ponytail or braid like Gina, or go for big voluminous curls for a ’70s twist.

Gina wore this dress with gold triangle earrings and silver strappy sandals. Because when a dress is this loud, you don’t need to add much to make a statement. We love that, makeup-wise, Gina paired this look with a sand-colored smokey eye, a glossy lip, and the most dewy skin ever for the ultimate “I woke up like this” look.

This wedding season, we’ll be taking a cue from Gina to go big or go home.
