Emma Watson looks like a "Star Wars" character in the dress she wore to the "Beauty and the Beast" premiere
Behold! Emma Watson arrived to the Beauty and the Beast U.K. launch event today wearing a dress fit for a space princess. The dress, which is a white-gray, off-the-shoulder gown that features a cape, looks amaze on Emma Watson (who plays Belle) — and it’s also eco-friendly. What ruler of the galaxy WOULDN’T want a planet-friendly outfit, right? According to E!, the Emilia Wickstead dress was styled by Rebecca Corbin-Murray — the same stylist who worked with Lily James for Cinderella.
While most outlets are comparing Watson’s ensemble to Cinderella (post fairy godmother makeover), we think the actress looks more like Carrie Fischer’s Princess Leia in Star Wars.
Sure, Watson’s dress is more gray than pure white, it’s sleeveless, and she’s wearing braids instead of bagel buns. But STILL. We can’t help but be reminded of one of the greatest princesses of the galaxy and see a bit of that futuristic look in Watson tonight. Both women, who wore minimal makeup and jewelry, look totally badass and immediately command the attention of an entire room with a single glance. Slay.
Even if Watson doesn’t look exactly like Leia, she definitely looks like she belongs in a galaxy far, far, away.
And if you’re still unconvinced, here’s a pic of Dan Stevens (who plays Beast) and Watson standing together like her mom asked them to pose for prom. Just because.
Beauty and the Beast premieres March 17th.
