In the ’90s we wore denim skirts to our ankles (don’t judge, it was a more ~conservative~ time). Then, when the ’00s came around, skirt lengths shot up — and it was all about the cut-off denim mini. That’s the 2000s trend Emma Robert is bringing back, and we are in no way mad about it.

The Scream Queens actress was seen out strolling in Los Angeles this week in a very cute outfit. Making the most of a mid-week rise in temperatures, she donned a raw-edge, reworked denim skirt with an asymmetrical hemline and a diamond-patterned black and green sweater by Tory Burch. Exactly the right level of coverage for the low-70s temps.

You have to admit that even if denim skirts weren’t your jam 15 years ago, this one — with its two tones and modern, dipped hemline — has piqued your interest.

Emma’s proven herself to be a fan of the denim mini this year, rocking a dark version earlier this month and a flippy, flirty number — with a bit of ’70s flare — in the spring.

Emma’s not alone in her love for jean skirts, either. Model Alessandra Ambrosio — who recently walked the runway at the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show in Paris — has been known to rock a denim mini from time to time.

And Kendall Jenner has shown off the style, too, pairing her reworked skirt with a halter top.

Basically what we’re saying is, go out and get yourself a denim skirt! Or just pull out the one that’s been chilling in the back of your closet for the last decade. Its time has finally come!
