"Game of Thrones'" Emilia Clarke will make you want to try the neckerchief trend

We’re just going to state the facts and say that the scarf is one of the most underrated and underutilized accessories. Seriously! A square scarf, specifically, can take your outfit from drab to fab in under five minutes. Whether you’re wearing one in your hair, tied on a purse, in a ponytail, or around your arm, you can add some flair to your look with minimum commitment. And, if you take a cue from Emilia Clarke, you’ll want to wear your neckerchief ASAP.

Honestly, we think this is the new fall trend you can try a season early.

You can go full-on floral, wearing your scarf like Emilia does, picking one in a contrasting pattern for an eccentric, but fashionable, effect. Or you can go more subtle, opting simply for a pop of color. You can even wear a scarf that coordinates perfectly with your all-black look for a textured effect.

Either way, simply tie your scarf around your neck and voila! Easy as a summer day.

If you feel like being bold with your choice of accessory, we suggest pairing a floral scarf with a contrasting floral outfit. Whether you wear a long-sleeved, button-up dress like Emilia is optional, but we can’t deny that we love the chic look it gives when finished off with t-strap heels.

You can also wear a simple T-shirt dress or some jeans, and tie a scarf around your neck for an effortless chic look. You can even match your lipstick to the floral print you’re wearing or simply wear a nude lippie and let the dress make a statement. Either way, there’s no losing with a neckerchief!
