Gucci's latest campaign is a visual feast for sci-fi lovers
If there’s one thing that’s right in this world, it’s Alessandro Michele for Gucci. The creative director joined the acclaimed Italian fashion house as creative director in 2015, and our lives haven’t been the same since. Thanks to him, Gucci’s got the “over-the-top grandma chic” thing on lock with their bold and patched-up clothing, embodying the idea that more is truly more. And now, we have another visual feast courtesy of Gucci, and it may just be the greatest yet. Inspired by ’50s and ’60s science fiction and Star Trek, the brand’s latest ad campaign is for the sci-fi lover in us all.
If you’ve ever wondered what it’d be like to get abducted by aliens, then look no further than this campaign.
Not only will it answer your question, but it will also inspire you to think of what you’d like to wear when you’re taken up to the mothership.
In the campaign, we see women in metallic threaded suits and full-length coats with all-over floral embellishments getting beamed into a spaceship, a control room full of psychedelic-printed sets, countless floral and intergalactic babes with metallic teal skin.
And of course there are space aliens and monsters from the black lagoon in the otherworldly galaxy that is Gucci.
If you’ve been hungry for an ad campaign and collection that feeds your appetite for alien delights, then Gucci heard your call.
Gucci’s latest is inspiring us to adventure in style. Full of vintage-inspired kitsch and fantastical scenery, this campaign is one for the books. We’ll be visiting this far-away fashion universe in our dreams tonight.
