Emma Stone served up a low-key and incognito ~lewk~ at the Telluride film festival
The Telluride film festival is probably the least glamorous of all the film festivals. It is held in a former mining town in Colorado, and for this particular film festival, the stars look like us on a Sunday morning. Emma Stone looked cute and casual in jeans, ankle boots, a Billie Jean King shirt, and a bomber jacket.
We love that her shirt is a shout out to the Tennis champ she plays in her new film, Battle of the Sexes.
She later hung out with Natalie Portman, you know, as Oscar-winning actresses do.
Word on the street is that her performance in Battle of the Sexes was not only the #1 crowd-pleasing film at the festival, but some are saying she could get another Oscar nomination. Hollywood Reporter writes, “Thanks to winning performances by Emma Stone and Steve Carell; the enthusiastic backing of King herself, who received a standing ovation when she was introduced before the screening; and the timeliness of a story pitting a dignified woman against a male chauvinist (ring any bells?), the film may be able to penetrate further into the awards season than its early mixed reviews might suggest.”
The film follows the battles and victories of ’70s tennis champ Billie Jean King, but more specifically, her iconic 1973 match against Bobby Riggs who claimed he could be any female tennis player.
Battle of the Sexes opens in theaters on September 22nd.
