Seriously guys, leave it to America Ferrera to make us wish we attended our high school’s junior prom. The actress looked like an ’80s stunner on the red carpet of the 69th Annual Directors Guild of America Awards in Beverly Hills. Clad in a high neck, little black dress, Ferrera looks like she should be joining Molly Ringwald at the school dance, in the best possible way of course.

Ferrera, who was a presenter at the awards, chose a Victorian-inspired dress with the perfect amount of black lace detailing. With a deep v neckline, black mesh, and the most beautiful black lace, the puff-sleeved number felt dark but not somber.

And since she chose to keep her accessories minimal, Ferrera’s dress did all the talking.

Paired with some simple black pumps and the perfect, bright red lip, the dress was the ultimate mix of our obsession with everything ’80s and everything vintage. Sometimes, less really is more. And although we’re not sure who designed the dress itself, we do know that they would have been our go-to for prom dress shopping.

Would we would have looked as good as Ferrera did in it? Well, that’s a different story.
