This London Fashion Week show’s positive messages are *exactly* what we needed to hear today

Yesterday was President’s Day, and while we enjoyed our day off, we were not exactly in a celebratory mood. And with the announcement today of a new Executive Order restricting immigration and expanding deportations, we’re feeling even less celebratory. That’s why we sighed with relief when we saw the positive messages on display at this London Fashion Week runway show — we really needed a reminder that humanity is still good deep down.

truly “love trumps hates”-themed collection, India-born designer Ashish sent models down the catwalk wearing tops and dresses bearing messages like, “As often as possible, be gentle and kind” and “Love sees no colour.”

And staying true to his brand cri de coeur — “Fighting gloom with glitter since 2001” — the Ashish runway sparkled. One sweater even said “More glitter, less Twitter” — which is a sentiment I think we can all get behind where Trump is concerned.

The show opened with “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” and closed with “We Are Family,” filling the show venue with uplifting, hopeful messages and joy.
