A farmer live-tweeted his sheepdog giving birth and it was unbearably beautiful

Is there anything more adorable than puppies? How about ten of them? Author and farmer James Rebanks, known on Twitter as Herdwick Shepherd, gave the internet what it needed when he live-tweeted his gorgeous sheepdog Floss’ giving birth to a litter of impossibly cute puppies.

It all started quietly, with Floss hanging out in her bed. Herdwick narrates this serene beginning with gorgeous, poetic language —as one does.

But things started happening quickly, and Rebanks was right there to share the action!

After pup number three, Rebanks estimated that there would be two more, or five in all. Oh, how wrong he was.

When the final count came in, Floss had given birth to ten puppies! Ten!
