Amazing news for “Fantastic Beasts” fans, there’s a trilogy in the works!

It’s officially July, which means we have T minus five months until the premiere of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.

But we have even better news — there might be a full trilogy in the works, according to director David Yates, who divulged to Reuters that J.K. Rowling has already written the Fantastic Beasts sequel! Yates, who also directed the last four films of the Harry Potter series, said Rowling even has ideas for a third film!

That means not only do we get more of the brilliance of J.K. Rowling, but more Eddie Redmayne, who is playing the character of Newt Scamander. This could allow us even further explorations into the wizarding world beyond Britain, as the first film will take us not only to a new time period, but also to America, where we get to witness the adventures of Scamander.

The origins of the new movie come straight from Harry Potter. Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them was actually a textbook Harry used while at Hogwarts. Scamander’s story of traveling the world to discover mythical creatures was a natural extension of the Harry Potter world.

“My heroes are always people who feel themselves to be set apart, stigmatized, or othered,” Rowling said in a previously released video with Redmayne. “That’s at the heart of most of what I write, and it certainly at the heart of this movie.” https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=

“Newt feels more at home with creatures than he does with human beings,” Redmayne said.

We totally know how that goes. How amazing is it to know that Rowling is still so clearly in love with the world that we could get years of sequels ahead? Ugh, November 18th could not be any further from now! Guess we better read all the books again!
