The title of “Fantastic Beasts 2” is here, and get ready for one epic wizard showdown

Wands at the ready — we finally have a title for the first sequel to Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them

After being formally introduced to the franchise’s Big Bad Gellert Grindelwald in Fantastic Beasts, the sequel is taking things up a notch as the evil wizard takes center stage. During the explosive ending of Fantastic Beasts, we discovered that shady Auror Percival Graves — played by Colin Farrell — was actually the nefarious Grindelwald in disguise as he fled the from the Magical Congress of the United States of America (MACUSA).

But now it seems we’re going to explore what makes the dark wizard so evil in the sequel, Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald.

The film, which is set to hit theaters one year from today — November 16th, 2018 — will see Newt Scamander (Eddie Redmayne) team up with Albus Dumbledore (Jude Law) to try and stop Grindelwald’s reign of chaos in the wizarding world. And don’t worry, Newt’s new American friends — Tina Goldstein (Katherine Waterston), Queenie Goldstein (Alison Sudol), and no-maj Jacob Kowalski (Dan Fogler) — will all be joining him on the wild adventure.

In addition to releasing the title, Warner Bros. also gifted the world with a Daily Prophet-worthy cast photo:

Not only are we getting a fresh look at our Fantastic Beasts faves, we’re also catching a first glimpse at a few brand new characters. The Crimes of Grindelwald will introduce another Scamander, Newt’s older brother Theseus (Callum Turner) — and his fiancée Leta Lestrange (Zoë Kravitz), who you’ll remember from the first film as the woman Newt keeps a framed photo of in his suitcase. Meanwhile, Claudia Min is joining the franchise as a mysterious character called Maledictus, who according to Pottermore, “suffers from a ‘blood curse’ that turns them into a beast.”

The cast photo also officially confirms the return of Ezra Miller’s Credence, an Obscurial who was presumed to have died at the end of the first film. And of course, to heighten the drama, Law’s Dumbledore and Johnny Depp’s Grindelwald can be found on opposite ends of the group photo.

So start practicing your favorite dueling spells because we have one year to prepare ourselves for the (very likely) Dumbledore/Grindelwald showdown in The Crimes of Grindelwald.

Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald will be released into theaters on November 16th, 2018.
