This “Fantastic Beasts 2” photo could be proof that we’re going to get that Dumbledore-Grindelwald face-off

The Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them sequel just gifted us a fantastic wand-related mystery. Fantastic Beasts 2 doesn’t hit theaters until next November, but a behind-the-scenes photo already has Potterheads conjuring up theories about a major event they’re hoping to see in the movie.

To the casual Harry Potter fan, the tweet might seem simple enough. The official Fantastic Beasts account posted a picture of two wands along with the caption, “Wands at the ready.” The wand on the left is instantly recognizable as the storied Elder Wand. The one on the right? Not so familiar. And that’s where the theories start brewing up faster than a cauldron in Potions class.

We know before Dumbledore got ahold of it, the Elder Wand belonged to his frenemy Gellert Grindelwald, who we got an unexpected glimpse of at the end of the first Fantastic Beasts (Johnny Depp with some serious frosted tips ring a bell?).

Dumbledore and Grindelwald famously battled in a 1945 duel.

So, if we know a younger Grindelwald and Dumbledore (who, in case you forgot, will be played by JUDE LAW) show up in the franchise’s coming installments, and the first movie was set in 1926, and there were two wands including the Elder Wand in the tweeted photo, it would make perfect sense if that famous battle was featured in Fantastic Beasts 2.

The other wand could be Dumbledore’s previous wand before he defeated Grindelwald. Or, maybe it was Grindelwald’s before he swiped the Elder Wand. Or maybe it belonged to a different witch or wizard we don’t even know about yet. WE HAVE SO MANY QUESTIONS.

As if we weren’t already excited enough about Fantastic Beasts 2 after reading about the recent casting news — Jessica Williams?! Callum Turner?! More Zoe Kravitz?! — we now have this tease to hold us over. But wait, it might not be the only thing: The tweet said they’ll be revealing more magical details tomorrow.

Tomorrow can’t come soon enough.
